TORONTO, Monday, September 12 – Randstad Canada, the Canadian leader for staffing, recruitment and HR Services, will recognize the country’s most attractive employers – as voted by job seekers and the working population – at Canada’s inaugural Randstad Award ceremony September 29th in Toronto. Instituted by Randstad globally, the Randstad Award aims to encourage best practices in building the best employer brands.
With a passion to promote, award and celebrate employer branding, the Randstad Award identify the best places to work among 150 of Canada’s largest employers (by employee size), based on the opinions of more than 7,000 job seekers and workers in Canada.
“We are extremely excited to bring the prestigious Randstad Award to Canada for the first time. The Randstad Award provide invaluable insight into a company’s perceived attractiveness to job seekers, based on public feedback across key metrics like salary, job security and work/life balance,” says Jan Hein Bax, President, Randstad Canada.
“The Randstad Award program is totally unique in this market as companies cannot nominate themselves or determine categories or criteria for entry. The winner is selected by the public, making the Award the people’s choice awards and the most accurate indication of what Canada's top talent desires in an organization. With skills shortages looming, the Randstad Award program recognizes companies who have the competitive edge needed for an organization to help secure talent today and in the future, and provides valuable insight for others on what attracts Canada's best and brightest employees.”
Hosted by Liza Fromer, widely respected broadcast journalist soon-to-be host of Global’s “The Morning Show”, featuring globally-renowned employer branding expert Simon Barrowalong with the CEO of Ipsos -Reid Darrell Bricker and the SVP of Ipsos-Reid John Wright, the award ceremony will recognize the top employer brands in Canada, and be an opportunity for valuable discussions on the importance of employer brand when attracting and retaining the best talent in Canada. This first-class evening will be filled with fine food and drink and will also feature a special performance by Juno Award-winning jazz singer/songwriter Molly Johnson.
First launched in Belgium in 2000, the Randstad Award event has been embraced by many countries around the globe: France, Spain, Poland, Italy, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia. The Randstad Award has seen considerable global success and is considered to be a prestigious and coveted performance indicator that helps companies measure their success as employers of choice.
The Randstad Award will provide organizations with vital information for building their talent attraction, engagement strategies and drive future business success. The 2011 winner will be announced on September 29th at a special event at the Carlu in Toronto. The ceremony will be attended by senior executives from Canada’s largest 150 companies.

Samples are based on national demographics (age, region, gender, education level) with a slight emphasis on respondents aged below 40, potential workers being the target audience of the survey.
